Sally's documentary to feature in Cork International Film Festival
Join Sally Barnes and filmmakers Federico Conti and Martha Grillo of BE.POLAR Studios for the Irish premiere of The Keep at L’Atitude 51 in Cork City on Saturday, November 16, as part of the Cork International Film Festival.
Sally Barnes is the last person in Ireland to smoke exclusively wild fish. Overwhelmed by the consequences of climate change and intensive fishing, her inestimable know-how is in danger of disappearing forever. This documentary short takes us behind the scenes of Woodcock Smokery, West Cork, revealing Sally’s skill and passion for traditional culinary art.
Following the screening, Sally will present a selection of her incredible Woodcock Smokery produce assisted by Chef Aishling Moore of Goldie, Cork’s award-winning fish restaurant, who will prepare some fish appetisers from Sally’s larder as well as a Woodcock/Goldie Chowder specially designed for the occasion. Beverley from L’Atitude 51 will pour some wine to accompany the appetisers.
